Welcome To The Real Ozark Mountains
Nestled in the heart of the Ozark Mountains in South-Central Missouri, Ozark County is perfect. Close enough to the neon lights and country music shows of Branson for your entertainment, but still rural and very country. Ozark County has a population of about 9,732. There are three incorporated communities: the county seat Gainesville (pop.773), the Bull Shoals Lake Village of Theodosia (pop.243) and the farm community of Bakersfield (pop.246). The pace of life here is slower and sane. No waiting through three signals to get past an intersection. No sitting in bumper to bumper traffic, idling and breathing exhaust fumes. The air here is fresh, the water clean. At night you can look up and see the stars and milky way, so bright and clear. All this and good neighbors. It's the way life should be.
Most important is the natural beauty and outdoor recreation that our part of the Ozark Mountains has to offer. There are thousands and thousands of acres of public land in our area of the Ozarks, including : two major lakes, two national wilderness areas and a world class trout stream. You can hunt, fish, hike, swim, scuba dive, water ski, horseback ride, bird watch, photograph nature , golf, or relax and listen to the quiet. Just about anything you can imagine.
No matter where in Ozark County you live, you're only minutes away from it all. Outdoor recreation here is boundless.
